About Wylie's Tearooms
Our tearoom offers old fashioned charm and mouth watering food.
We get our name from Wylie's the Ironmongers which dates back to the 1880's and originally was positioned both sides of the alley. It famously could supply you with any size of nails, screws or nuts, now the only nuts you'll find are toasted brazil nuts on our famous Fat Falstaffs, a delicious luxury rock cake with currants and cherries.
The tearooms were originally the living quarters of the historical ironmongers and it hasn't really changed, you can sit in the parlour with the original fireplace and overmantel mirror or in the kitchen with the range, water pump and quarry tiles.
Enjoy hearty breakfasts, light lunches and sumptuous afternoon teas, everything is cooked to order and completely homemade.
On your way out, browse our old fashioned shop and pick up a gift for a friend or treat yourself to one of our famous gingerbread men. There is something for everyone at Wylie's Tearooms And Food Emporium.
